C15 chapel and Priest's residence, formerly charity chapel of St Mary the Virgin,
founded and endowed by John Falcon. Of red brick in English-bond with crow-stepped
gables and a stone finial cross at east apex. One diagonal chimney shaft central
to roof and another square-set at west gable. T-plan by extension to north-west.
East window shows altered pointed brick arch with a stone niche above, in gable
apex. Angle buttresses, and recent cast iron lattice casements. Pegtiled roof
with crested ridge-bonnets. Original floor-joists to west bay which is a former
Priest-house, with housed soffit-shoulders and ogee with hollow mouldings. (RCHM 2).
