C18 facade. Painted brick with tiled roof. In 2parts, the lower, of 2 storeys,
faces south towards entrance from Quay, roof hipped at south end. The higher part,
of 2 storeys and dormer, has a modillion eaves cornice. 2 windows and 1 blank
to main, or western facade; unbarred sashes with flush frames. Ground floor has
3 small C19 shop windows, that of South end advanced under small roof. Vertical
glazing bars only remain. 2 doors with small, bracketed hood. Narrow stone
paved area around base continues up slope to quay hill. Prominent position at
end of a range of listed buildings, projecting where street narrows at main entrance
from Quay to town centre.
Nos 4 to 6 (consec) the Quay Street paving form a group with Nos 1 to 3 (consec)
and the Bird Cage opposite.
