Wesleyan Methodist Church, 1872 by E Hoole, Ragstone with ashlar dressings, slate (?)
roof.Gothic style. Projecting gabled porch to Park Road has plank double doors
with decorative hinges flanked by two-light windows under parapets. Tall pinnacles
flank central five-light window with geometrical tracery. Smallest lancets to right
and left, all with stopped drip moulds. Facade to Avenue Road is a 6-window range
with buttresses and a porch to left. Gable-fronted hall in similar style to left
also has projecting porch and three 2-light windows flanked by pinnacles. The
church was built as part of the Park Estate on ground given by J G Baxter.
