Part of grand terrace of houses. Circa 1855. Stucco. Roof not visible. Each
house 2 windows wide. 4 storeys, attic and basement. Rustication to ground
floor. Paired projecting Ionic solid-sided porches with panelled doors to front
plane. First floor continuous balustraded balcony. Square-headed windows.
First floor windows flanked by fluted Corinthian half columns and pedimented.
Second and third floors corniced with individual balustraded balconies. Sashes
and casements, plate glass; first floor French casements. Rich dentil cornice
above third floor (lost to Nos 47 and 48) and subsidiary cornice to attic. Area
balustrade. Closes west end of Queen's Gardens and forms part of that planned
scheme. Forms part of terrace with Nos 19 to 22 including 19A (qv), intervening
houses demolished.
