House, now with ground floor shop. C18, possibly recasing
earlier structure, with early C20 alterations. Red and grey
brick, cherry red flush quoins, dressing and moulded brick
cornice, with dentils and tall parapet concealing hipped old
tiled roof.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys with attics. Front has 6 flush sash
windows with glazing bars of 5-12 panes and one of 8 panes,
under cutter flat arches above plat band at first floor level.
Ground floor altered early C20 by insertion of shopfront and
lowering of floor level. Shopfront has plain flanking
pilasters surmounted by carved consoles. Plain lower fascia
and upper fascia with coved moulding. Central entrance, with
twin leaf glazed doors, in canted recess between display
windows with glazing bars, with small paned-leaded lights
above. Pierced, patterned cast-iron vents to cellar. At right
hand is 6 fielded panelled door in architrave surround under
square panel. Rear elevation of red and grey brick, Flemish
bond, with grey headers. Parapet with stone coping to hipped
'M' roof, covered in modern concrete interlocking tiles. Tall,
multi-shaft red brick chimney stacks. 2 flush sash windows
with glazing bars, under segmental arches at left, early C20
square oriel extension at right, carried on brackets above
glazed canopy.
