Two cottages now in one occupation. C17 and C18.

MATERIALS: South part painted brick, North part timber frame and brick infill. Thatched roof.

EXTERIOR: Rectangular plan, 5 bays long, one and a half storeys, half-hipped roof, chimneys in 2nd and 4th bays, four eaves dormers cut into thatch. West Elevation: 2-light casement to left, door under chimney one 3-light and one 2-light casement in central bays and door and 2-light casement in right hand bay, casements are irregular mix of C18 and C19 windows.

INTERIOR: Not inspected.

REASONS FOR DESIGNATION: Malt Cottage is listed at Grade II for the following principal reasons:
* A substantial cottage showing the evolution of vernacular building traditions from the C17 and C18.
