Church house. c1616, with earlier origins. Rubble;
timber-frame and plaster; C20 plain tiles; 2 rubble gable
stacks with brick superstructures.
3-storeys: central timber-frame and plaster projecting
porch-bay has 10-light moulded wood mullion and transom
window, and 6-light mullion and transom to left, with further
8-light window to right side under moulded bressummer, and
2-light window with leaded lights and casement to left;
moulded sill on enriched consoles. 4-light moulded wood
mullion and transom window with leaded lights, over, under
bressummer with inscription; enriched consoles; enriched barge
boards; moulded wood mullion window to far left. Studded plank
stable door with strap hinges, and ornate doorcase with
Jacobean carving, and enriched lintel; openings with balusters
and iron bars to side; all under moulded bressummer; C20
leaded light, in moulded case, and further 2-light canted
mullion window with leaded lights, to left. Left gable has
decorative bracing and enriched barge boards. Right gable
jettied to 1st and 2nd floors with much restored framing, and
C20 barge boards.
INTERIOR: early C17 winder stair from ground to 1st floor;
spiral stair with chamfered newel to 2nd floor; stone
fireplaces with oak lintels; moulded ceiling-frames with
ogee-stop chamfers; decorative plasterwork ceilings;
panelling; plank door in moulded stone case, under porch.
