Dwellings, now inn. C17 range, with C18 range and C19
additions. Courtyard plan.
To right: brick and timber-frame and plaster range, with plain
tile roof; 2-storeys and cellar; 2-window range: C18 metal
light with casement; C18, 9/9 sliding sash. C20 plank door and
doorcase to right, with C18, 9/6 and 9/9 sliding sashes and
3/6 sash.
To rear of courtyard, C18 range: painted brick; plain tile
roof; brick end stack; single-window range: C19, 2 light
casement; C19 flat roofed extension to ground floor, with
canted bay having 1/1: 3/3: 1/1 sashes, further 2/2 sashes,
and part-glazed door with margin-glazed overlight to right. To
left, C20 part-glazed door, under C19 canted porch bay, to
further range with slate roof.
To left, C19 range: 3-storeys; 2-window range: 3/6 sashes
under soldier arches; 3/3 sashes over; early C20, 3 doors and
single light; steps to first floor entrance with part-glazed
door to porch. Further range: 2-storeys; 2-window range: C19,
3/6 sashes; central tall plank door under segmental arch,
flanked by small fixed lights with glazing bars. Rear of
right-hand range displays box framing with C17 brick infill
over shallow pentice with plain tile roof, and brick and
rubble wall; rubble and timber-framing; oak lintel; C19 window
with casement, in C18 brickwork under tie beam. Rear of main
range of rubble with stone mullion window with quartrefoil
head, and simple lancet; C20 buttresses.
