Farmhouse, now house. Late C16, extended C18 with later additions and altera-
tions. Roughcast slate-stone; slate and asbestos slate roof. Original 2-unit
plan extended to left in C18. Two storeys. Three late C20 plastic casements
on first floor, those to centre and right directly below eaves; similar casements
immediately below to ground floor, right in contemporary bow. Small wood
casement lighting staircase to right of lean-to porch immediately to right
of centre, which has C19 casement with Gothic glazing to front. External
end stack to left and 2 ridge stacks, right immediately to right of lean-to
porch at point where roof pitch alters. Lean-to to rear in centre, extended
to left and possibly formerly continuing to right.
Interior: Right ground-floor room has moulded cross beams with ring beams
and concealed joists. Inglenook fireplace with large chamfered granite lintel
and jambs; cloam oven. Spiral staircase to front with C20 slate paving to
treads leads to pegged round-headed wooden doorway with plank door giving
access to right first-floor room. This has roughly central collar truss with
chamfered principal rafters, apex not visible at time of resurvey (December
1987). Ground-floor room between ridge stacks has chamfered cross beams,
some boxed.
