Pair of cottages. Late C18, with C19 and C20 alteration.
Coursed sandstone rubble, with pantile roof and right end and
left of centre brick stacks. 2-storey 3-window front.
Part-glazed door to No.40, to right; C20 board door to No.42,
to left. 2-light small-pane sliding sash between doors, and
C20 single-light window at right end. On first floor, windows
are 2-light small-pane sliding sashes. All windows except C20
one have painted stone sills, and all ground-floor openings
have keyed wedge lintels.
