Farmhouse. Early C17 or earlier lobby entrance house extended
to south east in late C17 and altered in late C18 and early
C19. L-shaped building of coursed stone rubble with tiled
roof, the lowest course of stone slates hipped to south west
wing and gable ended with kneelers to the other and 1 cement
rendered and 1 brick chimneystack. 2 storeys and attics 3
windows to each wing. South west wing has casement windows.
South east wing has 2 C19 cambered dormers. 1st floor has 2
12-pane C20 casements in original stone surrounds and central
Venetian window. Ground floor has right side C19 sash with
verticals only, left side C20 window and central doorcase with
C18 stone surround but C20 door. C19 lean-to extension. South
west front has former pump head converted into a rainwater
head with the initials T.H and the date 1801. Interior has
office with ovolo moulded spine beam late C17 round headed
corner china cabinet with pilasters, 8 fielded panels and
serpentine shelves and C17 stone fireplace. Blue Room, in the
angle of the L, has an early C19 fireplace with engaged fluted
columns and duck's nest grate, 2 reeded window surrounds with
paterae and a similar doorcase with 6 panelled door. Early C19
staircase with square balusters and column newel and 2
panelled door. Roof has angled queen struts with through
purlins and inserted ridgepiece. Kitchen has chamfered spine
beam; stone mullioned windows and timber framed partition
wall.
