Cottage, now disused. Mid-C17 remodelling of earlier building; later additions
and alterations, part demolished c1946. Limewashed roughly coursed slate-stone
rubble with cob above; C20 weatherboarding to right end. Corrugated iron roof,
half-hipped to right. 2-room plan, formerly extending to right, truncated c1946.
Originally one storey, eaves raised in as to give one storey and attic: - original
roof line visible to left gable end. Raking eaves dormer to centre has 2 multi-
paned C18 casements with crown glass and L-hinges. Similar casement with H-L
hinges to lower left and 4-panel door with rectangular barred overlight under
gabled hood to right. Integral slate-stone end stack to left.
Interior: Ground floor has C20 spine partition wall with Cl9 cast-iron range
in fireplace with chamfered segmental wooden lintel. Inset panelled wall cupboard
to left with another in corresponding position to attic. Chamfered collar truss
roof in 3 bays, plus half bay to truncated right end, has original horizontal
thatching spars.
