Flint calcining kiln. c1840. Brick with corrugated iron roof.
Small square structure built into slope. INTERIOR: 2 round
niches in rear wall. Used for calcining flint prior to its
crushing in the mill (q.v.). Flint was an important material
in the Staffordshire china industry and its preparation was a
significant local industry.
