Row of 5 weavers' houses. c1840. Brick with slate roof.
3-storeyed with variable planning accommodating to corner
site, comprising one 2-unit single-range house, and 4
single-unit double pile planned houses. No.55 (the 2-unit
plan) has central entrance in architrave with exaggerated
console brackets to entablature and blind window over.
Flanking windows are 12-pane sashes with shallow brick arched
heads. Other houses have round-arched entrances with blind
tympana. Shallow C19 bow window in No.57, the glazing
elsewhere renewed in original openings. Long small-paned
workshop windows to attic storey in rear elevation only.
Passage to rear in centre of row. Axial and end wall stacks,
including 2 on the front wall of the terrace. Moulded wood
eaves cornice. INTERIOR not included.
