Gate piers at entrance to Rock House

GV II

Gate piers. c1850. Plastered. 2 pairs of rusticated embattled
gate piers linked by short sections of curved embattled wall.
Square section piers with plinths and projecting cornices
below the battlementing. The outer piers and the walls have
coped merlons and embrasures to the battlementing, the
battlementing of the inner pair has been repaired in a plainer
style. Included for group value with Rock House (qv), which
has an embattled parapet.
