Farmhouse and attached barn. House dated 1623 but probably
rebuilt and barn added late C18; altered C20. Roughcast
sandstone, graduated slate roofs. House of 2 storeys and 2
windows to 1st floor with gable of barn on left, the barn
extended by 5 bays to rear. House: recessed central doorway
has C20 part-glazed panelled door under name and date panel;
projecting sills to plain casement windows. Central ridge
stack and end stack on right. Rear: kitchen wing under lean-to
roof adjoining barn; tall end stack. Barn: gable to Harrel
Lane has slatted casement, square vents and copings. Left
return: wide passage doorway on left has segmental arch; to
its right a tall square-headed waggon entrance. Lean-to on
right has 2 boarded doors under wooden lintels and recess open
to eaves. Right return: external steps to boarded door.
INTERIOR of barn: 3 bays to the roof; principal-rafter
trusses. Partition wall then 2 further bays with heavy floor
framing suggesting the ground floor was used to accommodate a
horse gin.
