Terrace house. Late C17 or more likely early C18, altered c1830-40. Stucco
faced, concealed roof. 4 storeys, 3 windows wide. Ground floor has yard
entry to left and early to mid C19 pilastered shop front with pilasters
returned into yard passage flank, entablature fascia linking up with that
of No. 19. Upper floors have close set architraved plate glass sashes with
cornices on 1st and 2nd floors. Crowning cornice and blocking course. Rear
elevation retains original brickwork and flush framed segemental arched
sash windows. Interior retains good fielded panelled front 1st floor room
with deeply moulded box cornice, overmantel panels, and panelled soffit
cross beam to ceiling, doors, etc. Simpler panelling to rear room;
dog leg staircase, with closed string, turned balusters and column newels
intact above ground floor, etc.
