Cambridge Lodge
GV II
Garden walls and gate piers. c1850s, contemporary with
Cambrige Lodge. Local grey limestone rubble walls with
irregular toothed capping; cement-rendered gate-piers. The
wall encloses the garden south of the house and includes an
archway with a brick arch from Old Torwood Road. On the east
return a pair of octagonal gate piers with low, oversailing
pyramidal caps. Cambrige Lodge is a rare example of a smaller
Torquay villa complete with original garden. It is paired with
Grey House (qv). Included for group value.
