4/9 Summerhouse and carriage
4.3.47 house at Filby House

Carriage house, converted at east end in early C19 to form summerhouse.
Carriage house mid C18. Brick with thatched roof. South side with 2 full
height timber double doors and segmental pedestrian door. West gable head
rebuilt C20. Gabled roof. North side contiguous with garden wall. Secondary
C19 wall approaches south elevation from south separating summerhouse section
from carriage yard. East gable has lower portion glazed with 6 intersecting
timber lights containing leaded glazing. Glazed door left of centre.
Intersecting lights continue into south return as far as secondary wall.
Above glazing is a timber platband. Gabled roof carried on kneelers with
central arched blind window. Standing on kneelers are 2 quatrefoil brick
pinnacles terminating in diminishing quatrefoil brick finials.
