School, now a museum. c1850. Carstone slate walls with gault brick and
Ketton dressings. Steeply pitched slate roof with louvre ventilation of
lead. Tall end stacks of two linked shafts. School hall of one storey with
two four-light cross-frame casements in square heads with dripmoulds.
Central doorway in four centred arch and above a raised gable having a stone
tablet with scroll and inscription "Erected by the Trustees of March
Consolidated Charities". Cross-wing of two storeys with two-storey bay to
the front.
