8/376 Church Farmhouse

G.V. II

Farmhouse. C17, with C19 and C20 alterations and additions. Random limestone
rubble (formerly rendered), double Roman tiled roof with brick gable stacks,
pantiled at rear. L-plan, later infilled. 2 storeys and 4 windows, first floor
all 6-pane sashes with wider central pane and relieving arch, ground floor has
3 C20 windows with relieving arch, 2nd from left C20 porch, door with relieving
arch; single storey addition attached to right. Left return has line of former
addition with pitched roof, C20 window at first floor left and attic, lean-to to
left with 3-light casement with brick segmental head. Right return has C20 attic
window. Rear wing to left has 2-light cellar window with iron stanchions, small
door with dripstone; upper ground floor has 4-light wooden casement with chamfered
mullions and hood mould, greenhouse attached to left; rear of main house has C19
addition continuing pitch of main roof, pantiled, 2 C20 windows and door with
segmental brick head; 2 gables above, both with stack, to left external.
