SY 49 NW SYMONDSBURY BROADOAK

3/114 Broadoak Church

Church. 1865-6 by Talbot Bury. Nave and chancel, oriented south-west.
Coursed Lias stone walls. Slate roof with stone gable copings. Sanctus
bell-cote to north gable with set-offs, gable and cross over. Main doorway
in north wall with straight-chamfered 2-centred arch-head and jambs. 2 leaf
door with ornamental hinges. 2-light stone mullioned window with plate
tracery over. Trefoil-shaped stone window over that. Side walls have 4
pointed-arch windows with straight chamfers. "N Pevsner, Dorset", p 1I4.
