Original house built late C17 for Sir Henry Johnson; only part of this survives, with C18 and C19 alterations and additions. Brick, slated roof. Two storeys.
Oldest part has four window range, sashes with glazing bars in flush frames, segmental arches. First floor string course. Eaves supported on wooden brackets, with decorative boarding to lower edge of roof; chimney with grouped stacks; hipped roof. To the west is a C18 wing in similar style; two window range, doorway with pilasters and entablature; six-panel door with the upper two panels glazed, rectangular fanlight with glazing bars. To the north is a lower C19 two-storey extension.
