Gate lodges and wall. Late C17, altered mid-C18. Brick with stone dressings.
Walls to east, north and south sides of forecourt, two lodges in middle of east
wall, at south-east corner the walls are attached to the former stable block
(listed as Gardener's house and garage, qv). Two identical lodges: shallow
pyramidal roofs hidden by crenellated stone parapet, two lancets to east (front)
with stone dressings, dome headed gate piers to gateway; walls flanking lodges
are crenellated with stone coping; north wall of enclosure about two metres
tall, south wall about 1.25 metres tall both with weathered stone coping; wrought
iron gate at south-west corner.
