Farmhouse. C17 - early C18, probably with earlier origins; C18 alterations
and extension to right, late C19 - early C20 extensions to rear. Bay
windows rebuilt and roof re-tiled c.1982. Brick, rendered except for left
gable end. Pantile roof. L-shaped on plan: earlier 3-room range with side
and rear extensions and rear outshut. 2 storeys, 3 first floor windows;
lower 2-storey extension set back to right. Plinth; rusticated quoins to
main range. Entrance to left of centre: doorcase with reeded pilasters and
frieze, moulded flat hood supported on ornate wrought iron scrolled
brackets; 6-fielded-and-beaded-panel door beneath moulded cornice and 4-pane
overlight in panelled reveal. Single flat-roofed canted bay windows to
either side with 12-pane sashes; 3-light sliding sash to right end. 8-pane
sashes to first floor in flush wooden architraves. Stepped and cogged brick
eaves cornice to main range; stepped and dentilled brick eaves cornice to
extension. Brick coped and tumbled gable to right and to extension; tile-
coped and rendered gable to left. Interior: pair of C18 - early C19 arched
alcoves with keyed architraves in passage on ground floor left; broach-
stopped chamfered beam in ground floor central room has mortise for post,
suggesting former timber framing. Roof not investigated.
