House. C17 or earlier origins, encased in brick and roof tiled in C19.
Later outshut to right. Timber framed, cased in brick, rough-rendered to
front. Clay tile roof. 3-room plan, formerly with baffle-entry to right of
centre: entrance now to rear. Single storey with attic, 4 windows. Three
4-pane sashes in flush wooden architraves, one recessed 4-pane casement.
Steeply-pitched half-hipped roof. Central raking dormer with rendered sides
and 4-pane sash. Rendered double-flue stack to right of centre, C20 stack
to left. C20 attic casements to left and right gables. Unusual C19 single
lap roof tiles with fluted and scalloped faces and cable-moulded side laps
are inscribed on underside, "Jackson & Garsides Patents Hull. Manufactured
by E. Thompson, East Halton, Ulceby, Lincolnshire." Interior: wall-plate
and some upright wall studs are visible; section to left of stack has large
spine beam supported on post at left gable-end, perhaps representing later
inserted floor.
