to front, immediately in front of
G.V. Nos. 6 & 7

Village pump, trough and railings. Dated 1858 in incised lettering on back;
for Inigo-J ones estate. Ashlar. Plain Tuscan columns support a pediment with
"IJ" shield badge affixed to the tympanum. Between the columns is a low,
ashlar trough which is fed by pipe spouting from a grotesque mask which is set on
the back,under the date. To the left of the south column is a small round-
headed niche. Two feet in front of the pump are cast-iron railings approximately
6 feet long with three circular, capped uprights. Part of an intact and
unaltered mid-Victorian estate village.
