9/178 Shippon approximately 5 metres to
- east of Rapscott Cottage
GV II
Shippon. Late C18 or early C19, with later C19 addition. Roughly-squared stone
rubble to ground floor with cob above to left. Corrugated-iron roof, gable-ended to
left (north) and half-hipped to right (south).
Plan: Shippon with loft above, facing west. One-storey lean-to addition at right-
hand end.
Exterior: Loft opening to left. Two ground-floor openings, left-hand one with
frame. Central C19 boarded door with wooden lintel. Lean-to to right-hand end with
C20 boarded door.
Interior: Four-bay roof with trusses consisting of principal rafters and collars.
This building forms part of a large farmstead group, also including Rapscott Cottage
(q.v.) Little Rapscott (q.v.) and Great Rapscott Farmhouse (q.v.).
