House, now house and flats. Late C18; refronted late C18; restored early C20.
Coursed limestone rubble; stucco front. Gabled stone slate roof; ridge and end
stacks of stone finished in brick diagonally-set flues, and C17 moulded ashlar
stack to rear. 4-unit plan with rear wings. 2 storeys;. 6-window range. Early C19
six-panelled door with lion's head knocker and overlight set in moulded wood
architrave with cornice to left; similar door with dolphin knocker and Tuscan
pilaster to dentilled cornice, on right. Late C18 six-pane sashes and 2 earlier
C18 paired sashes with thick glazing bars. Right side wall: 2-storey projection
with 2-light wood-mullioned and transomed windows with leaded-lights; chamfered
and moulded wood-mullioned windows of up to 5 lights; rear gable has end stack
of stone finished in brick and 3-light ovolo-moulded wood-mullioned window.
Gabled rear bay has ovolo-moulded stone-mullioned and transomed windows and
carved early C20 panel with intials FW. Rear left wing of similar materials;
right side wall rebuilt in early C20 Arts and Crafts style, with ovolo-moulded
stone-mullioned windows set in 3 gabled bays. Interior: cased hearts. Room to
right has moulded and quartered beams, fine late C16 moulded stone fireplace
with sunk spandrels and fine mid C18 panelling. Room to rear has quartered
chamfered beams and line mid C18 shell alcove with carved cherub's head.
