Laburnum Cottage

Farmhouse, latterly 2 cottages, now house. Mid-C17 with later additions
and alterations. Timber framed with rendered infill and plinth; machine
tile roof. Original 2-cell plan extended to left late C20. One storey
and attic. Framing: square panels, 3 from cill to wall-plate with long
straight tension braces. Late C20 fenestration, 2 casements to ground
floor, both to right of C19 open gabled porches with carved balusters,
left with C20 panelled door, right now with leaded fixed-light window
inserted; 3 late C20 gabled eaves dormers. Red brick stack immediately
behind ridge to centre. Interior: framing (square panels) exposed to
cross-wall and original left gable end; chamfered spine beam and heavy
joists to left ground-floor room of C17 part. Collar and tie beam roof
in 2 bays. Late C20 extension is not of special architectural interest.
