Market building. Late 16/early C17; cupola added 1683; C19 repair work. Render
over timber frame to cross gables; stands on 13 round limestone ashlar piers;
stone slate cross-gabled roof and lean-to pentice roof to all sides. Roof
surmounted. by clock-turret with cupola and sundial: medallion inscribed "Erected
1683 by Gulilmus Blake Armiger of Cogges". Interior: central stone pier stands
on 3 stone steps; dentilled wall plates trenched across cross-beams support
roof. The Blake family owned Manor Farm, Cogges (q.v.).
Scheduled as an Ancient Monument.
