Farmhouse. c.1800 remodelling of earlier building with C19 and C20 alterations.
Rubble with stone dressings and quoins, ashlar porch with plain tiled roof, double
Roman tiled roof with raised coped verges and kneelers, gable stacks. L-plan,
symmetrical front. South front of 2 storeys and 3 windows, all 3-light
casements with wide ovolo mullions in recessed surround, first floor central
2-light window, 3 smaller 2-light casements at attic level, central C19 gabled
porch with scalloped bargeboards, C20 window to each side of porch and C20 door in
chamfered surround; 2-light cellar window to left, string course above lintels of
ground and first floor windows, 4 C20 roof lights. Left return has ground floor
similar 3-light casement, two 2-light windows lighting stair, lower one with
dripstone, C20 2-light casement at first floor and small 2-light casement at attic
level; recess for former oven to left; gable end to right has small round-headed
blocked cellar window, ground floor C20 window, first floor 2-light casement with
chamfered mullion and surround and C20 attic window. Right return has C20 porch
attached, 3-light casement with chamfered mullions and dripstone, C20 attic
window in gable end to left; single storey outhouse attached to right, with door
and 2 C20 windows under eaves, lean-to at rear with small square light in heavy
timber frame. Rear has C20 window to rear of outhouse, single storey block
(possibly former dairy) attached to gable end of house, with 2-light casement with
ovolo mullion and dripstone. Interior: plank and batten door to east porch in
moulded frame with carved stone set over lintel; south east room has heavy
chamfered beams, deep lintel to fireplace with cupboards to right and left,
cupboard to left with splat baluster ventilation panel; winder stair to 2nd floor.
5-bay roof to front, 2 bays to rear wing, principal rafters, collars, with braces
under. 2 rows of purlins and ridge purlin.
