Attached cottage. c Cl7 with C19 fenestration. Rubble-stone walls. Thatch roof
with gable-ends. Block-ridging. Brick stack at right hand gable-end. 2 storeys.
3-4 windows, ground floor has one 3-light stone mullion (ovolo, renewed) with lead
lights. 2-light wooden casements with glazing-bars. Sashes at right hand end.
Front door, at centre approximately, recess-panelled with 2 large lights, C19.
Further door-at right hand, 4 recess panels with a wooden lintel over.
Attached workshops: (1) Saw-pit, with weatherboarded walls and Roman-tile roof.
Roof-construction, C19. (2) Wood-store, penthouse and forge: range in one, C19.
Rubble-stone and plank walls. Pantile roof. Wood-store open-fronted. Penthouse
has a brick floor, and a rebuilt roof construction. Forge has an earth floor with
rough cobbles. Anvil, bellows and forge intact.
The workshops are the premises of E G Daw, bounded 1795 as Agricultural Carpenters
and Wheelwright.
