about 25 metres south east of
G.V. fishing lodge

Bridge, flanking walls and piers. Late C18/early. C19, part of the planned walk
around the lake. Sandstone, limestone and brick. North elevation has round-
headed tunnel entrance in rusticated sandstone ashlar, plain pilaster broken
forward to each side, cornice and coping. Limestone rubble wall to each side,
swept round to terminal square piers, each with coping and flat top of rusticated
sandstone; wall higher to east to accommodate slope of ground. South elevation
has round-headed tunnel entrance with large rusticated keystone breaking through
cornice, plain pilaster to each side, no coping. Interior of tunnel has side
walls in rock-faced limestone, brick vault. On top of bridge, limestone rubble
walls with sandstone coping to north and south, about one metre high, one square
limestone pier remaining to south east, with hipped top; wall about 18 metres
long to north and about 30 metres long to south, where it meets the rear of the
fishing lodge (q.v.), ramped up towards centre, with quoins at angle where wall
turns.
