Butterwell. Probably C18 or early C19. Built into a bank with slate
rubble jambs, slate lintel and slate shelves inside. The door is missing.
The Butterwell is built on a spring situated across the farm track and yard
north east of Lower Bearscombe Farmhouse (qv)
