House, now craft centre. Early C18. Brick; hipped slate roof
with some composite tiles; various brick stacks. Double-depth
plan.
Symmetrical 2-storeys, attic and basement; 5-window range: 6/6
sashes under gauged brick arches; short advanced wings each
have 2 similar windows; moulded wood modillion cornice; stone
coped parapet; 7 box dormers with 2-light casements under
cambered heads and moulded cornices.
Steps and wrought-iron railings to central entrance: 8-panel
door in moulded wood doorcase with shouldered architrave,
under moulded wood pediment on enriched consoles; flanked by
similar fenestration; ashlar storey band over basement
fenestration.
Protruding, mid C18 semi-circular wing to left returned side,
with tiled roof; 2-storeys and basement, with three late C19,
2/2 sashes under gauged brick flat arches to 1st floor; late
C19 plain sashes under rendered lintels to ground floor.
Rear elevation has slightly advanced central bay, with steps
and wrought-iron railings to half glazed door and overlight in
plain doorcase, with shouldered architrave under moulded
pediment hood and fluted frieze, on fluted consoles; similar
fenestration. 4 box dormers with 3/3 sashes with cambered
heads, under moulded cornices.
INTERIOR: open well staircase with turned balusters, moulded
rail and panelled dado; plasterwork panelling and cornices;
panelling; wood, marble and bolection-moulded fireplaces.
