House and barn/stables. Early C19. Dressed pink sandstone with V-jointed
quoins under graduated greenslate roof with coped gables and kneelers; ashlar
twin candlestick chimney stacks. Barn/stables of whitewashed rubble with flush
quoins, under hipped graduated greenslate roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays with rear
lower 2-bay extension and left long lower barn/stables. Panelled door and
overlight in pilastered surround under cornice. Sash windows with glazing bars
in mixed stone surrounds. Barn/stables front wall blank, but for plank door and
irregular slit vents. Right return wall and rear extension wall are slate hung;
the opposite wall of extension has door and sash windows with glazing bars in
stone surrounds. Rear of barn/stable has numerous plank doors and loft doorways
in stone surrounds. Further barn adjoining the extension is not of interest.
Has prominent position when approaching the village from the east.
