House, now offices and flat. c1780, altered C19. Sandstone
ashlar with ashlar dressings. Slate roof and gable chimney
stacks, with brick cap to the left and brick and stone cap to
the right. L-plan, double-depth front block and rear wing to
the left.
3 storeys above cellars, with a low plinth and an eaves
cornice, and 3 bays with a doorway in the left-hand bay. This
has 3 steps, pilaster jambs with an open pediment on fluted
consoles, and a fanlight with radiating glazing bars. The door
has 9 raised and fielded panels. All the windows have plain
reveals, raised sills, and sashes: those on the ground floor
have no glazing bars, while those on the first and second
floors have 12 and 9 panes respectively.
INTERIOR: dogleg open-string staircase with 2 stick balusters
per tread and a ramped mahogany handrail.
