House, now an outhouse. C16. A tall, 2 bay timberframed,
weatherboarded structure with steep pitched gabled roof now
covered by corrugated iron. Inclined (W) front wall with
irregular window pattern and plank door in S gable, near corner.
Formerly a 2 storeys domestic structure of good quality. Close
studded walls with tension bracing. Heavy jowled posts. Holes
on timbers for former infill of wattle and daub. Surviving 3-
light diamond mullioned window with shutter groove on rear (E)
wall at 1st floor level. Head mortices and shutter groove for
similar windows on front wall at both levels. Posts have
original corbels for floor beams. High clasped purlin roof with
curved wind braces and heavy flat laid rafters. Lapped collars
and diminished principal rafters. Probably associated with the
important C16 and C15 house immediately to S (May
Cottage/Gouldburn).
