House, now residential home for elderly. Early C17, the front
remodelled late C18, rear wing added early C19 and returns to
front wing bricked. Plastered timber-frame and later gault
brick. Slate roofs.
Facade to north of 2 storeys; 3-window front; deeply recessed
behind return walls and eaves. Central C18 8-panelled door,
now with 4 panels filled with C20 stained glass. Eared
doorcase with a hood above a geometric frieze and repeating
pendant arches. One 8/8 sash to right and left. To extreme
right is a secondary C19 4-panelled door with overlight. Three
6/6 first-floor sashes. Gabled roof with one gabled dormer
fitted with a 3/3 sash. Glazed cheeks. C19 internal gable-end
stacks east and west.
South-east return in C19 gault brick. Rear block of gault
brick, 2 storeys in 3 bays, each bay defined by pilaster
strips. Not bonded-in to front block. Central glazed door
flanked either side by one tall 6/8 sash reaching to ground.
Three 6/6 sashes light first floor. Hipped roof with 3
rendered stacks in valley between blocks.
INTERIOR. Close studded timber-frame to front of house (north
block). Chamfered cruciform bridging beams. Brick infill
between principal studs. Closed string C19 staircase.
