The Cavalier Public House
GV II

House, now public house. Late C16 or early C17, altered in C19
and C20. Timber-framed, now clad in plaster with applied
painted half-timbering. Plain tiled roof, swept slightly over
first floor windows to left and right with gabled return wing
to right. Ridge stacks in centre and at left end with right
end stack behind ridge. L-plan with crosswing to right. Two
storeys; irregular fenestration of four windows on first floor
and three on ground floor, with further windows in re-entrant
angle of crosswing. C19 casements, to left and right of centre
on ground floor in small canted bays. Very wide panelled door
to left of centre with flat cornice-hood over on brackets.
