Town house with later shops. C17 with later alterations.
Stucco on timber frame to front, possibly originally jettied;
steep asbestos slate roof with projecting front eaves; brick
end stacks. Large U-shaped plan plus wing at rear left
parallel to rear of Nos 9 & 11. 3 storeys; 5-window range. 2
original late C17 transomed wooden mullioned windows, with
later casements to 2nd floor, other 3 with 2-light casements
all within heavy moulded architraves, possibly original. 1st
floor has 3 early/mid C19 sixteen-pane hornless sashes within
moulded architraves and early C20 four-light transomed
casement on the right. Ground floor has 2 late C19 projecting
shop fronts: No.7 (left) with sloping fascia with moulded
cornice, canted window with some mullions removed; No.5 has
double shop front with original moulded cornice over C20
fascia; between shops a pair of pilastered doorways with
moulded entablature and panelled overlights: central doorway
with early/mid C19 four-panel door; C20 shop door on its left.
INTERIOR: no old or original features visible where inspected.
During alterations in the 1980s a rare 4-light ovolo-moulded
and glazed mullioned window was revealed, now exhibited in
Helston Museum (qv).
