Formerly known as: Nos.2-12 BRIDEWELL STREET.
Range of 6 houses under 2 roof pitches. Rebuilt after fire of
1616. Rendered and whitewashed timber frame. Nos. 11-15 with
roof of red pantiles, Nos. 17-21 with black glazed pantiles.
No.11 with an underbuilt jetty and room over carriage entrance
to left. C20 half-glazed door with a window to its right. Two
2-light late C18 casements to first floor. Gabled roof with
one gabled dormer and ridge stack. Nos. 13-15 with a central
pair of heavy panelled doors flanked by one C19 horned sash
right and left. First floor jettied. 3 similar horned sashes
to first floor. One gabled dormer in gabled roof. Internal
gable-end stack at division of roofs. Nos. 17-19 in 3 wide
bays. 2 panelled doors left of centre with an early C19 sash
to their left and 2 similar right, all with glazing bars.
Jettied first floor lit through one similar, smaller, sash to
right and two 3-light late C18 casements to left. Gabled roof
with ridge stack right of centre. East gable wall rebuilt
early C19 and fitted with a fluted pilaster doorcase carrying
a flat hood. Rear outshuts early C19.
INTERIOR. Bridging beams mainly of sunk-quadrant type. Beam to
No.21 has roll mouldings and rolled soffit indents. Winder
staircases by stacks. Jowled principal studs and corner
tension braces. Roof of 2 tiers of purlins, the lower butted,
the upper clasped by cambered collars.
