Pump and recess to the east end of
East Street

II

Pump and recess. Late C19. Red brick recess containing a
cast-iron cylindrical shaft with later capping to the top.
Shaft has three moulded rings to centre and base; a
pump-handle is bolted to a bracket on the right-hand side of
the shaft; the rectangular-section spout has an ornamental
knob to support a bucket-handle. The brick recess is set in a
rubblestone wall; it is approx 2m high, 0.5m deep and 1m wide
with bull-nosed brick arrisses to a segmental arch.
