Terraced houses. Dated in a plaque now sited on the parapet
between nos 10 and 11 inscribed 'ELIZABETH TERRACE 1821'. The
houses were completed by 1824. Yellow brick set in Flemish
bond with stucco dressings, roof obscured by parapet. Three
storeys over basement, two windows each. Nos 4-7 and 14-17 set
back slightly. Heads of gauged brick to all openings. Steps up
to round-arched entrance with fluted quarter-columns, plain
cornice, fanlight with decorative glazing and panelled door of
original design; all windows flat-arched with sashes of
original design; plain stucco sill band to first-floor
windows, each of which is set back under a round arch of
gauged brick the arches linked by a moulded springing band;
first-floor windows have individual cast-iron balconies;
parapet, generally much rebuilt.
Features of individual houses are: no 2 has pilasters crudely
replaced; sashes replaced to first floor of no 5, first and
second floors of nos 6-7, second floor of nos 8-9, ground
floor of nos 10-11, first floor right-hand of no 14, ground
floor of no 17, first and second floors of no 19, second floor
of no 20. The sashes of original design on the ground floor of
nos 20 and 21 have margin lights. The facade details of this
terrace are,in general, remarkably well preserved.
