Pair of attached houses. Early C19. Render with limestone
dressings, central brick stack and a pantile mansard roof with
coped verges. Each of 2 storeys; 2-window range. A symmetrical
pair with pilasters and coped parapet, outer pedimented
doorcases with pilasters and triglyphs, fanlights and 6-panel
door; 8/8-pane sashes and dormers with 4/8-pane sashes, No.196
with an additional 2/4-pane sash dormer to the left. INTERIOR
not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: wrought-iron spear-headed
area railings with urn finials.
