House, now tea room. C17 with early to mid C18 and later
alterations. Painted brick with some timber framing; tile roof
with large brick end stack. 2 storeys with attic; 2
single-window ranges, that to right lower. Range to right has
brick platt band over ground floor and top frieze and coved
cornice, that to right has top brick modillioned cornice.
Entrance in late C20 shop front to right end, window to left
possibly in blocked entrance, possible blocked entrance to
left end. Ground floor has segmental-headed window to left
with C20 frame; 1st floor has segmental-headed windows, that
to left with 3-light transomed pegged frame, that to right
with C20 casement; attic has 2 gabled dormers. Rear has
plastered gabled wing. INTERIOR: stop-chamfered beams; rear
wing has exposed part of cross frame with wall posts and
cambered tie beam cut through and queen struts; winder stair
to attic.
