Warehouse opposite Clarke's Alley
II
Waterside warehouse or fish house. Early C19, possibly
earlier. Painted brick, some light timber-framing, plain tile
roof. A small but lofty gabled rectangular structure, rising
direct from Mill Avon on its W side in 2 storeys and attic. On
river front are 2 very small casements deep set at eaves in
light timber-framing, above three 2-light small-pane casements
high to first floor, and 2 segmental-headed casements flanking
wide square loading door at ground floor. S gable has C20
door, and thin horizontal timbers in gable, and plain N gable,
with inserted C20 door. Road front, all brickwork, has 2 tiny
eaves casements over two 4-pane casements, set high and
flanking plank loading door. Ground floor has blocked window
to right and a pair of plank doors to sagging soldier arch.
INTERIOR not inspected. The whole structure is leaning towards
the E, probably through foundation settlement.
