Former use not known,now shops. C15 undercroft, C17, C18 and early C19
facade. Timber frame with yellow mathematical tile cladding; pantiled
roof. 3 storeys; 6 first-floor windows. Flattened carriage arch in
centre is flanked by C20 shop-fronts with glazing bars. First-floor
jetty. Sash windows with glazing bars in moulded wooden architraves
on first floor; pivoted windows with glazing bars on second floor,
all under flat rendered (?) lintels. C17 flint and brick rubble
range to rear of No. 28 has mullioned and transomed casements with
iron frame, leaded lights and pale green glass. Late C18 red brick
range to rear of No.30. Interior has been extensively altered: first
floor room facing street has restored and re-arranged panelling C1800;
rear wing of No. 28 has chamfered and stopped first-floor girders and
below No. 30 lies an extensive series of connected chambers with pointed
barrel-vault profile, probably C15. This is one of the most extensive
barrel vaulted undercrofts in Norwich.
