Farmhouse. Late 18th/early 19th century. Random dressed
limestone; stone slate roof; 2 concrete block chimneys; one
ashlar (sawn-stone) chimney; brick stack to wash house.
Rectangular plan with covered link to wash house to rear.
2 storeys and attic with single-storey wash house to rear.
Symmetrical facade with 3 hipped half-dormers with glazing bar
casements; 12-pane sashes to ground and first floors; original
6-panel door with fanlight. Right-hand return; single
half-dormer, one half with leaded panes, the other with
horizontal glazing bars; two 16-pane sashes to first floor;
two 12-pane sashes to ground floor. Left hand return: single
C20 two-light casement to ground floor.
Rear: 2 half dormers with glazing bars; two 2-light casements
with leaded panes to first floor; small 3-light window with
leaded panes; 3-light window with segmental head and two
original 6-panel doors, one with flat canopy over, to rear.
Central rear entrance opens into an open-sided covered walkway
supported on timber yard. Hipped roofs; chimney gablets to
farmhouse.
INTERIOR: front right-hand room and entrance corridor have
ornate cornices; simpler cornice to left-hand room; flagged
floor to left-hand room; original staircase with stick
balustrade; 2 possibly original fireplaces with dentil
decoration; original panelled shutters to ground and first
floor windows to front. High limestone wall with coping runs
back rear left to link with farm buildings, continues forwards
of house with gateway by house, returns across front as low
wall and returns back as railing and low wall.
